Made back when gun makers built a gun and then put a price on it instead of the other way around, the Model 12 is universally regarded as one of the best designs and best executions in the slide action shotgun world. Much too expensive to manufacture (it would cost several times the price of a cheap import if made today), it was euthanized in the mid 60’s, sparing it the humiliation that befell the model 70 and 94. All model 12s can slamfire.
